The Loaded
Dice, a 5 piece band from Mid Wales, launch into 2010 with a new ep, ‘Silver
Spoon’, released via This Sound. The ep, released on 19 April, is a taster
for the album, ‘Keep The Demons In The Box’, due out later in the year. The band has been around for a couple of years but things really started moving for them in 2009. Following the success of fast-selling self-released album, ‘Sex, Drugs and Atonement’, the band were judged by Malcolm McLaren (the late maverick former manager of Sex Pistols) and DJ Annie Nightingale as indie category winners at the UK final of ‘Live & Unsigned 2009’. However, the band turned their back on the restrictive contract put forward as a prize and instead concentrated on crafting the tracks that formed their debut ‘formal’ release, ‘Another Kick At Old Lovers’ in November. A couple of Radio sessions ensued and the band has taken it’s powerful live show increasingly further afield; including a slot at the influential, ‘In The City’ music festival in Manchester. |
